Job Description Position: Expeditor - Procurement (Control Panel Unit) Department Procurement / Supply Chain Reporting To Procurement Head / Manager - Procurement Location Coimbatore Job Summary The Expeditor will be responsible for ensuring timely procurement and delivery of materials required for the manufacturing of Control Panels, Hub Panels, Bottom Panels, Battery Boxes, Wiring Harnesses, Bus Bars, and related assemblies used in Wind Turbine Generators. The role focuses on supplier follow-up, order tracking, shortage management, delivery coordination, and ensuring uninterrupted material availability for production schedules. The incumbent will work closely with Procurement, Planning, Stores, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Vendors to ensure on-time supply of materials and components. Key Responsibilities Purchase Order Follow-up & Expediting Follow up with suppliers for timely execution of Purchase Orders (POs). Track order acknowledgement, manufacturing progress, dispatch status, and delivery schedules. Ensure materials are delivered as per committed dates. Expedite critical and urgent requirements to prevent production interruptions. Monitor open purchase orders and closure status. Supplier Coordination Maintain regular communication with suppliers regarding production and dispatch schedules. Obtain periodic updates on supplier manufacturing progress. Escalate delays and bottlenecks to the Procurement team. Coordinate corrective actions with suppliers to recover delayed deliveries. Build effective working relationships with suppliers for smooth execution. Production & Planning Coordination Work closely with Production Planning and Stores teams to understand material requirements. Prioritize procurement activities based on production schedules. Coordinate supply requirements for: Control Panel Assembly Hub Panel Assembly Bottom Panel Assembly Battery Box Assembly Wiring Harness Assembly Bus Bar Fabrication Copper Components Electrical & Electronic Components Ensure critical material shortages are addressed on priority. Material Availability Management Track material availability against production plans. Monitor shortages and proactively follow up with suppliers. Prepare material status reports and shortage reports. Ensure uninterrupted material flow to production lines. Coordinate alternate sourcing actions during supply disruptions. Logistics & Delivery Monitoring Coordinate dispatch schedules with suppliers and transporters. Monitor shipment movement and expected arrival dates. Ensure timely receipt of materials at the plant. Follow up on delayed shipments and resolve logistics issues. Maintain records of transit materials and pending deliveries. Supplier Performance Tracking Monitor supplier delivery performance against commitments. Maintain on-time delivery metrics and vendor scorecards. Identify recurring supplier delivery issues and recommend corrective actions. Support supplier development initiatives by providing delivery performance data. Documentation & ERP Updates Maintain records of purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier commitments. Update ERP/SAP systems with delivery status and procurement information. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly procurement follow-up reports. Ensure accurate documentation for procurement activities. Cross-Functional Coordination Coordinate with: Procurement Production Planning Stores Quality Manufacturing Engineering Logistics Ensure smooth communication between internal departments and suppliers. Support rapid resolution of supply chain issues impacting production. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve procurement lead times. Support initiatives to improve supplier responsiveness and delivery reliability. Contribute to inventory optimization and reduction of supply chain delays. Participate in procurement process improvement projects. Educational Qualification Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or related field. Experience 3 to 5 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Vendor Coordination, Expediting, Planning, or Materials Management. Experience in Control Panel Manufacturing, Electrical Equipment, Switchgear, Industrial Automation, Renewable Energy Equipment, or Engineering Manufacturing preferred.
