Job Description Position: Stores Executive - Control Panel Manufacturing Unit Department Stores & Inventory Management Reporting To Stores In-Charge / Manager - Stores & Logistics Location Coimbatore Job Summary The Stores Executive will be responsible for managing the receipt, storage, identification, issuance, and inventory control of materials required for the manufacturing of Control Panels, Hub Panels, Bottom Panels, Battery Boxes, Wiring Harnesses, Bus Bars, and other assemblies used in Wind Turbine Generators. The role ensures timely availability of materials to production while maintaining inventory accuracy, material traceability, and adherence to safety and housekeeping standards. Key Responsibilities Material Receipt & Verification Receive incoming materials from suppliers and verify quantities against Purchase Orders, Delivery Challans, and Invoices. Coordinate with Quality Inspection for incoming material inspections. Ensure proper labeling, identification, and segregation of materials. Verify physical condition of received materials and report any shortages or damages. Maintain accurate records of all incoming materials in ERP/SAP systems. Inventory Management Maintain accurate inventory records of raw materials, consumables, bought-out items, electrical components, and finished goods. Monitor stock levels and ensure adequate inventory availability. Track minimum, maximum, reorder, and safety stock levels. Support inventory optimization to prevent stock-outs and excess inventory. Ensure proper stock rotation practices (FIFO/FEFO where applicable). Material Issuance to Production Issue materials to production as per BOM, work orders, and production schedules. Ensure materials required for upcoming shifts are issued in advance. Coordinate with Production Planning and Production teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability. Maintain records of material consumption and returnable materials. Track production shortages and escalate critical requirements promptly. Storage & Material Handling Ensure proper storage of: Electrical Components Electronic Components Wires and Cables Wiring Harnesses Connectors and Lugs Copper Bus Bars Sheet Metal Components Hardware and Fasteners Battery Components Control Panel Accessories Implement suitable storage methods to prevent damage, corrosion, and material deterioration. Ensure efficient bin management and location identification systems. Inventory Accuracy & Stock Control Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock verification activities. Support cycle counting and annual physical inventory audits. Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Maintain high inventory accuracy levels. Generate inventory reports and stock movement analysis. SAP / ERP Transactions Perform material receipt entries (GRN). Update stock transactions in ERP/SAP systems. Process material issue and transfer transactions. Maintain accurate inventory records in the system. Support procurement and planning teams with inventory-related information. Coordination with Internal Departments Coordinate with Procurement regarding pending materials and shortages. Support Production and Planning teams with material availability updates. Work closely with Quality for incoming inspection and rejection handling. Coordinate with Logistics for material movement and dispatch requirements. Support Manufacturing Engineering during new product introductions and engineering changes. Housekeeping & 5S Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within stores. Ensure proper storage, stacking, and identification of materials. Implement 5S practices throughout the stores area. Ensure safe handling and storage of materials. Maintain clean and organized storage locations. Safety & Compliance Follow all safety regulations and company EHS guidelines. Ensure safe operation of material handling equipment. Adhere to inventory control procedures and company policies. Support internal and external audits. Maintain traceability and documentation of inventory transactions. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve stores efficiency and inventory management. Reduce material handling time and storage inefficiencies. Support inventory cost reduction initiatives. Participate in Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and process improvement activities. Educational Qualification Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Experience 2 to 5 years of experience in Stores, Inventory Management, Warehouse Operations, or Material Management. Experience in Electrical Control Panels, Switchgear, Industrial Automation Panels, Wind Turbine Generators, or Engineering Manufacturing preferred.
