Job Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and technically skilled L1+ Firewall && Networking Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of networking concepts and firewall technologies. As an L1+ resource, you will support and maintain network security infrastructures, assist in troubleshooting network issues, and provide proactive monitoring of security devices such as firewalls, routers, and switches.

Key Responsibilities:

Firewall Management && Monitoring:

• Assist in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of firewall devices (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortigate).
• Monitor firewall logs and alerts, identifying and escalating issues.
• Apply basic rule sets and policies based on network requirements and security best practices.
• Assist with VPN setup and maintenance (site-to-site and client-to-site).

Network Support:

• Provide basic support and troubleshooting for network issues, including routing, switching, and connectivity.
• Assist in configuration and maintenance of networking hardware, such as routers, SDWAN, switches, and load balancers.
• Perform basic network monitoring using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, or similar.
• Handle troubleshooting of network performance and connectivity issues, of MPLS, ILL, RF Links

Security Incident Response:

• Monitor and respond to security alerts generated by firewalls, IDS/IPS, and other security devices.
• Assist in incident management, ensuring timely resolution of network security issues.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and provide reports for patching and remediation.

Documentation && Reporting:

• Maintain up-date documentation on network security policies, procedures, and configurations.
• Assist in generating network security reports and audit logs as required by compliance standards.
• Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions for knowledge sharing.

Collaboration && Escalation:

• Collaborate with senior team members to address complex issues and provide insights on improving network security.
• Escalate critical issues to senior network engineers or security experts as needed.
• Work closely with other IT teams (e.g., Systems Admins, Security Analysts) to ensure seamless operations.
