Key Responsibilities: 1. Cost Estimation: Preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, encompassing materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs, taxes etc. Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to accurately determine the scope of work and generate reliable cost projections. 2. Quantity Take off: Oversee and ensure thorough quantity take-offs from project documents for effective cost assessment. Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to ascertain and resolve any discrepancies in project specifications. 3. Data Management: Maintain and refine cost estimation databases, ensuring they are up-to-date with regional labor rates, material prices, and subcontractor quotes. Conduct market analysis and benchmarking studies to enhance the accuracy and competitiveness of estimates. 4. Project Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior engineers in the estimation process, providing guidance and support in developing their skills. Attend estimation reviews and discussions with reporting managers to establish insights and implications for financial forecasting. 5. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to clearly understand project requirements and align on financial expectations. Engage with procurement and contracts teams to obtain quotes and clarify technical aspects relevant to the estimates. 6. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and manage comprehensive documentation for estimates, including methodologies, assumptions, and any relevant changes that arise during the project lifecycle. Generate regular reports comparing estimated costs against actual expenditures and provide insights for variance analysis. 7. Site Engagement: Conduct site visits to verify current conditions and evaluate their impact on project costs and schedules. Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with estimates, suggesting adjustments as necessary to align with budgetary constraints. 8. ERP: Possess deep knowledge of "ERP" operations. Maintain standard formats for WBS, Labour library, material library etc. Upload quantities in ERP. Perform necessary amendments. Approval of Purchase requisitions. 9. Reconciliation: Prepare Material reconciliation on monthly basis.
