Project Title: (1) IRS-12 Examining Air Quality Change during COVID-19 in Delhi from Ground-based Observations and Regional Meteorology-Chemistry model Simulations; and (2) Provision of Services on Development of Computational Physics Module for S4-S6 Students

[Appointment Period: 6 Months]

The appointee will support a research project in Atmospheric Science, focusing on weather, climate, air quality, and environmental monitoring. The successful candidate will assist in research, project coordination, data analysis, and administrative support. The appointment will be for approximately 6 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to mutual agreement and funding availability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in research activities related to atmospheric science, climate change, and air quality;
2. Collect, manage, and analyse environmental and meteorological data;
3. Support the preparation of research reports, presentations, and project deliverables;
4. Support the dissemination of research findings through publications and reports; and
5. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Applicants should have Level 2 or equivalent or above in 5 subjects including Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics in the HKDSE; or Grade E (Level 2) or above in 5 subjects including Chinese, English (Syllabus B) and Mathematics in HKCEE or equivalent.  Preference will be given to applicants with a Bachelor's Degree in an Environment-related discipline. They should have knowledge of atmospheric and climate science, environmental monitoring, and/or air quality studies, as well as basic skills in data analysis and statistical software such as R, Python, MATLAB, Excel, or GIS. Applicants should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment, with strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in atmospheric, climate, environmental, or related scientific research projects, particularly those involving environmental data analysis, climate modelling, remote sensing, GIS applications, scientific writing, field measurements, environmental monitoring, or laboratory work. Applicants should also have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and be able to communicate effectively in Cantonese.
