Microstrategy Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop MicroStrategy reports, dashboards, documents, and dossiers.
• Create and manage schema objects including facts, attributes, hierarchies, transformations, and metrics.
• Design and optimize data models, star/snowflake schemas, fact tables, and dimension tables.
• Work closely with data engineering teams to validate and enhance table structures and data integrity.
• Develop and integrate Python scripts for data processing, automation, and reporting enhancements.
• Perform SQL query optimization and performance tuning.
• Handle schema updates, project configuration, and metadata management in MicroStrategy.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ensure best practices in BI development, documentation, and version control.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in MicroStrategy Architecture & Development.
• Expertise in Schema Objects (Facts, Attributes, Hierarchies, Tables, Joins, Transformations).
• Solid understanding of Data Warehousing concepts (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema).
• Strong knowledge of Fact & Dimension table design.
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation.
• Advanced SQL skills (query writing, performance tuning).
• Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
• Knowledge of MicroStrategy Intelligence Server and project deployment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities:

1. MicroStrategy Schema Development:

• Design and develop MicroStrategy Universes (Schema Objects) including Attributes, Facts, Hierarchies, and Transformations.
• Create Attributes, Facts, and Metrics to support business reporting needs.
• Develop and maintain Logical and Physical Data Models in MicroStrategy.

2. Report & Dashboard Development:

• Design and build Reports, Dashboards, and Documents using MicroStrategy Web, Desktop.
• Optimize report performance by implementing best practices such as indexing, caching, and partitioning.
• Create and manage Intelligent Cubes to improve report performance.

3. Metadata & Security Management:

• Configure MicroStrategy Security Filters, Roles, and User Privileges.
• Implement Data-Level and Object-Level Security for controlled access.
• Manage MicroStrategy Projects and Object Migration across environments.

4. ETL & Data Integration:

• Work with SQL, Data Warehouses, and ETL teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Integrate MicroStrategy with various databases (Teradata, MS-SQL Server, etc.).

5. Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting:

• Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting of reports and dashboards.
• Ensure best practices in data visualization and reporting.

6. Collaboration & Documentation:

• Work closely with business users, data analysts, and BI teams to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Document design specifications, business logic, and development processes.
