About Trickle Up India Foundation
Trickle Up India Foundation (TUIF) is the Indian arm of the global non-profit organisation Trickle Up, dedicated to addressing extreme poverty in India. It focuses on empowering women and vulnerable populations through locally tailored programs and partnerships.
About the Programme
BRAC, in partnership with JEEVIKA (Government of Bihar), is implementing the Immersion and Learning Exchange (ILE) Programme. The goal is to promote the Graduation Approach by showcasing government-led models as effective and scalable solutions for reducing poverty. The programme uses immersive visits to demonstrate how local communities and resources contribute to successful outcomes.
Based on the positive experience in Bihar, the ILE is now being expanded at the request of NRLM. While the main focus—organising learning visits—will continue, the programme will also begin strengthening the Graduation Resource Pool Development Programme. Under this, selected Master Coaches and Resource Persons will receive intensive training and will go on to support Graduation programmes in other states and countries. Currently, the ILE operates under an agreement between BRAC and JEEVIKA for activities in Bihar. In addition, the programme will expand to include three to four more State Rural Livelihood Missions (SRLMs).
TUIF is collaborating with BRAC International to expand ILE at the national level and ensure its smooth implementation. The ILE Executive will be part of the team that TUIF will form at the national level to steer the programme's expansion. The key role of the ILE Executive – Capacity Building will be to design and implement capacity-building strategies for the Graduation Resource Pool, which includes Master Coaches and Resource Persons. These individuals will support other states as technical resource persons in implementing the Samaveshi Aajeevika Yojana (SAY) and other Graduation-based programmes.
About the Role
The ILE Executive – Immersion Visits will play a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and executing immersion visits for both international and national delegations, ensuring that each visit is tailored to the specific learning objectives and contextual needs of the participants. The role requires close collaboration with State Rural Livelihood Missions (SRLMs), BRAC, and Trickle Up India Foundation (TUIF) to ensure seamless planning and delivery of each immersion.
The Programme Associate will work in close coordination with district and field teams of SRLMs to strengthen the capacities of staff and community institutions hosting these visits. A key responsibility will be to support the development of high-quality immersion sites across new SRLMs, positioning them as models of best practice for peer learning and exposure.
This position demands strong competencies in relationship management, strategic planning, and hands-on programme implementation, along with the ability to operate effectively in dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments. The role will also require frequent travel across Bihar and to other partner states as necessary.
Specific Roles & Responsibilities
1. Design and Coordinate Immersion Visits: Develop customised immersion visit plans for national and international delegations based on their learning objectives. This includes curating visit agendas, identifying suitable field sites, and ensuring alignment with the expectations of the visiting teams.
2. Stakeholder Coordination: Maintain regular coordination with SRLMs, BRAC, and TIUF to ensure effective planning and execution of visits. Act as the central point of contact for all stakeholders involved in the immersion visits.
3. Development and Strengthening of Immersion Sites: Work with SRLMs' field units to identify, develop, and strengthen immersion sites. Ensure these sites reflect strong implementation practices and are capable of serving as learning models for visiting delegations.
4. Capacity Building of SRLM staff and Community Institutions: Support training and preparation of staff and community institutions at the field level to host visits. This includes contributing in developing orientation materials, conducting preparatory workshops/meetings, and ensuring hosts are confident in presenting their work.
5. Monitoring and Quality Assurance: Monitor the delivery of immersion visits to ensure a high-quality experience for all participants. Gather feedback, identify areas of improvement, and implement changes to enhance the effectiveness and impact of the visits.
6. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed visit reports, help in documenting case studies, and knowledge products that capture key learnings and best practices. Maintain a record of participant feedback and outcomes from each visit to support programme learning and improvement.
7. Extensive Field Travel: Undertake frequent travel across Bihar, occasionally to Delhi and to other partner SRLM states to support site preparation, coordinate with field teams, and manage visit logistics on the ground.
