Mumbai TNE Manager
University of Bristol
Description
The role
The Mumbai Enterprise Campus is one of Bristol's major international commitments and a central part of our transnational education ambitions. This role will be the operational connection point between Bristol and our Joint Venture partner, helping the campus run in a coordinated, compliant and purposeful way.
You will sit within Global Partnerships and work closely with the Head of TNE Programmes, Schools, Faculties, Professional Services, Marketing, Legal, Finance and senior leaders. Your job will be to turn strategic ambition into a practical operating rhythm: create clear plans, circulate useful reporting, escalate risks, ensure agreed actions are progressed, and act as the core bridge between Bristol and the Campus.
This is a specialist TNE role for someone who understands both the promise and the complexity of overseas delivery. You will help Bristol strengthen the Mumbai Enterprise Campus, support sustainable growth, and identify opportunities for programme expansion, research links and wider collaboration.
This role can be considered on a part-time or full-time basis, between 0.6 and 1.0 FTE. Applicants should state their preferred FTE arrangement in their cover letter. Part-time hours will be calculated on a pro rata basis (for example, 0.6 FTE equates to 21 hours per week).
What will you be doing?
- Act as the day-to-day liaison with the Joint Venture partner, keeping communication clear and coordinated across Bristol.
- Maintain the operational plan and shared calendar for the Mumbai Enterprise Campus, tracking decisions, dependencies, risks and next steps.
- Coordinate meetings, boards, project reviews, workshops and engagement infrastructure that keep delivery moving.
- Work with legal, regulatory and internal colleagues to monitor compliance with UK and regional requirements.
- Prepare performance reports for senior leaders and committees, including updates on enrolments, finances, delivery progress and strategic objectives.
- Support business planning for the campus and help shape proposals for programme growth, research activity and new collaborative ventures.
- Bring Schools, Faculties, Professional Services, Marketing and the partner together around clear responsibilities, timelines and outputs.
You should apply if
- You have substantial higher education experience and a strong practical understanding of transnational education, ideally with India-specific context.
- You understand how academic quality, regulation, governance, commercial planning and partner management shape overseas delivery.
- You can coordinate complex work across senior academics, professional services, external partners, advisers and public bodies.
- You are comfortable working through ambiguity, resolving problems autonomously and escalating issues with good judgement.
- You can produce clear reports, papers and business planning material from complex information.
- You bring diplomacy, intercultural confidence and the ability to maintain trust across time zones, institutions and competing priorities.
