The Senior Category Manager for Home Building & Improvement at UrbanClap would be responsible for managing the categories of Interior designing, Architecture, Construction and Renovation. The incumbent shall be the custodian of the categories in terms of ensuring quality of professionals and driving rich customer experience for his / her categories. Being a critical and high opportunity category, this would require the incumbent to garner understanding and insights on the nature of the categories, and hence grow them by driving impact-full professional profiling, appropriate pricing, effective match-making and balanced demand-supply trajectories. We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, ambitious vision, creative thinking and ability to do multi-tasking.

In a nutshell, your role would entail:

1. Owning the service category end to end

2. Get UrbanClap to dominate the category in the cities present

3. Understand the category in depth, and how customers hire in the same

4. Identify and on-board great service professionals in the category – This will involve meeting many of them and plenty of field work initially. You will be responsible to create widest breadth and depth of pros, so that all customers can find the right one for them for all needs, locations or price points

5. Institutionalize service delivery norms and processes for the category

6. Impart necessary training to on-boarded service professionals on these norms and how to use UrbanClap

7. Represent UrbanClap in city wide events and conferences

8. Work with the product team to create a great user experience for that category

9. Work with the marketing team to generate customer requests in that category

Job Requirements

1. At least 2 years of work-experience in startups, consulting, marketing or operations roles

2. Strong analytical skills and a data driven decision making mentality

3. Strong verbal and written communication skills

4. Hustle and get things done attitude

5. Entrepreneurial DNA and dreams in your eyes

7. Graduated from a top-tier engineering or business school (IIT/XLRI/FMS) with top grades
