Sustaining Engineer I (Ops)

POSITION SUMMARY The Sustaining Engineer is responsible for providing immediate response to design-related production issues, managing the Product Lifecycle for Busbar designs, and improving Design for Manufacturability. Busbar is an Engineered-To-Order (ETO) product, which means each customer order is specifically engineered. This generally leads to higher complexity and variation for departments supporting this product family. This position is ideal for individuals seeking a fast-paced environment that fosters problem-solving and continuous improvement. RESPONSIBILITIES Identify and Cross-Functionally Coordinate Design for Manufacturability Improvements (Safety, Quality, and Efficiency) Provide design support for issues discovered during production Provide design support for supply chain constraints Support New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI) Ensure quality of ETO design before released to production QUALIFICATIONS 1-3+ years of experience in product design 1-3+ years of experience in 3D modeling / 2D drafting Excellent communications skills – written & verbal Experience in Design for Manufacturability 1-3+ years of experience in Sheet Metal and Copper Design Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS No special physical requirements TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED 10%
