Responsibilities:

• Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
• Design and implement database structures, tables, indexes, and views to support application requirements.
• Collaborate with software developers and data analysts to understand data needs and translate them into efficient database solutions.
• Perform database performance tuning and query optimization to enhance system responsiveness and efficiency.
• Manage and monitor database backups, restores, and disaster recovery processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Implement and enforce database security best practices, including access control and data encryption.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including data dictionaries, ER diagrams, and user guides.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in database development and administration.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a SQL Developer with 3 to 5 years of hands-on database development using Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
• Solid understanding of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling.
• Experience with performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.
• Proficiency in using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and other database tools.
• Knowledge of database security best practices and data protection methods.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred:

• Microsoft SQL Server certification (e.g., MCSA: SQL Database Development).
• Experience with other database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and technologies.
