Job Description:

Solid understanding of investment products, asset classes, and financial markets.
Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities, manage multiple deliverables, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and build productive working relationships.
Ability to work cross-functionally to support practical and well-rounded solutions.
Self-motivated and eager to learn, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Experience with Artificial Intelligence required in some capacity is preferred.
Advanced Excel skills required; SQL experience is a preferred plus.
Progress toward or interest in pursuing the CFA designation is a plus.
Familiarity with investment platforms such as BlackRock Aladdin, State Street PAM, and Bloomberg is a plus.

Roles And Responsibilities:

Security Setup: Set up and review security master records for newly traded assets, ensuring that key attributes and asset-specific nuances are accurately captured.
Data Quality Review: Conduct daily reviews of security master data to ensure accuracy and compliance with established policies, procedures, and controls. Monitor changes in security data, including ratings updates and coupon changes, to ensure timely system updates.
Vendor Referential Data Oversight: Perform reconciliations to ensure accurate security master setup across vendor platforms and coordinate changes with multiple service providers.
Market Data Providers: Partner with data vendors to resolve security-level data questions and research key attributes to ensure consistency and accuracy across market data sources.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including Risk, Investment Teams, and Compliance, to support daily production activities and key business initiatives.
Investment Asset Knowledge: Work with senior team members to build a strong understanding of asset classes and their unique characteristics.
Investment Solutions: Participate in discussions with vendors and investment teams to help develop practical, sustainable solutions that enhance security master data and support business needs. Represent the team by applying knowledge of key processes and systems to improve solution design and execution.
Data Resolution: Investigate data quality issues, coordinate resolution with relevant teams, and review existing security master records to confirm ongoing accuracy.
Key Projects: Support senior team members on ad hoc initiatives and strategic projects as needed.
Data Requests: Respond promptly to data requests from internal stakeholders, including traders, portfolio managers, sales, and client service teams, particularly those related to asset setup and security-level information.
Problem Solving: Analyze data issues using a root cause approach, document findings, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Investment Data Concepts: Continuously build knowledge of investment data concepts, including discounted cash flow analysis and asset structures, to support accurate data used in investment models.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the enhancement of processes, controls, and procedures by identifying opportunities to strengthen data quality and improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience in a security master / security reference role, preferably with BlackRock Aladdin direct experience.
3-5 years in investment management, investment operations, or a related field.
