Ecommerce Specialist

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of product data and keeps our Shopify store running cleanly behind the scenes. This role is all about accuracy, structure, and scale. You will manage product listings, build out attributes and metafields, maintain collections, and make sure every record in our catalogue is complete and consistent. If you enjoy working with data, have a good feel for how eCommerce stores are organised, and take pride in doing things properly, this role is for you.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Shopify Store Management

• Manage product listings in Shopify - titles, descriptions, variants, pricing, and inventory settings.
• Maintain product organisation through collections, tagging, categorisation, and navigation linking.
• Monitor listing status, visibility, and availability; resolve errors and inconsistencies promptly.

Product Attributes and Metafields

• Build category-specific attribute sets to support filtering, structured display, and a consistent shopping experience.
• Configure and manage Shopify metafields and custom data structures for advanced storefront functionality.
• Ensure all product data fields are accurately filled, consistently applied, and aligned with catalogue standards.

Catalogue Operations and Data Management

• Handle bulk product uploads and updates via CSV imports, Shopify admin, or third-party data feeds.
• Regularly audit and cleanse product data to fix gaps, outdated records, and inconsistencies.
• Maintain a clean, scalable product taxonomy - tags, categories, and hierarchical structure.
• Good working experience with Excel and Google Sheets.
• Support product launches - ensure all data is loaded, checked, and live on time.
• Apply SEO metadata - titles, meta descriptions, URL handles, and alt text - consistently across the catalogue.
• Use AI-assisted tools where available to support content, formatting, and data enrichment.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 2–4 years in eCommerce operations, product data management, or digital merchandising.
• Hands-on Shopify experience - listings, variants, collections, metafields, and admin workflows.
• Strong grasp of product attribution, taxonomy, and metadata best practices.
• High attention to detail when managing large SKU catalogues accurately at scale.
• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets for catalogue audits and bulk data management.
• Experience with PIM (Product Information Management) systems or data feed tools is a plus.
• Basic understanding of SEO metadata fields.

NICE TO HAVE

• Shopify Plus experience, including custom metafield and metaobject configurations.
• Knowledge of structured data and schema markup for eCommerce product pages.
• Familiarity with industry-specific product data standards.
• Exposure to AI tools for product content generation, data enrichment, or catalogue optimisation.
