Filmmaker – AI Content & Generation

Xanadu Studio is looking for emerging filmmakers who want to build at the intersection of storytelling and AI-driven production. This role combines filmmaking fundamentals with hands-on AI content generation. Ideal for Assistant Directors / Direction Assistants ready to evolve into new workflows where prompts, iterations, and generative tools are part of the filmmaking process.

Key Responsibilities

Filmmaking & Creative

Assist in concept development, scripting, and visual storytelling

Break scripts into shot structures, moods, and visual directions

Collaborate with creative and post teams across the production lifecycle

AI Generation & Execution

Generate images, video, and audio using AI tools (text-to-video, text-to-image, voice, etc.)

Write, refine, and optimize prompts to achieve high-quality outputs

Iterate rapidly across multiple generations to reach creative benchmarks

Maintain visual consistency across shots, characters, and environments

Upscale, refine, and adapt generated assets for final delivery

Manage generation pipelines, file organization, and version control

Workflow & Collaboration

Translate creative briefs into executable AI workflows

Stay updated with emerging tools and integrate them into production

Contribute to building internal systems, templates, and best practices

Requirements

Prior on-set experience (AD, DA, or similar roles)

Strong understanding of filmmaking grammar (shots, continuity, pacing, staging)

Hands-on interest in AI tools and experimentation

Ability to think both creatively and technically

Fast learner with high adaptability to new tools and workflows

Attention to detail, especially in visual consistency and output quality

Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory)

Experience with tools like Runway, Midjourney, Sora, Pika, ElevenLabs, etc.

Basic editing/compositing knowledge (Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve)

Understanding of prompt engineering and generative workflows

Experience in ads, short films, or digital content
